It is a fabulous thing these Wikis, you can write and edit content online. Wikis also allow the teacher to have access to their student's work any where they have online ability. That in itself is HUGE!
Changing and editing a story just becomes so much easier with a wiki. The teacher can read and make comments to inspire their children's writing. Children that would otherwise struggle with the written language will have a better chance of success. Wikis allow children to collaborate with each other to better their own work. Learning how to collaborate is a “life skill”. Taking constructive criticism is a characteristic of a successful adult, to begin teaching this within an ELA lesson is tremendous.
